Investments will continue without pause, minister says
Transport and Infrastructure Minister Abdulkadir Uraloğlu said the investments focus on using existing infrastructure more efficiently, expanding rail capacity, improving port and logistics infrastructure and integrating different modes of transport. Uraloğlu stressed that investments would continue at pace.
More than 1 trillion lira has been set aside for transport investments of all kinds next year, with rail in first place, Uraloğlu said. "We will carry our railway investments further in order to weave Turkey with iron nets," the minister said, adding that the country had made major investments across road, rail, aviation and maritime, and that work to strengthen transport, communications and infrastructure would continue.
Uraloğlu said the budget allocated for 2027 would keep investments going in road, rail, air, maritime and communications.
Ministry's spending this year
Uraloğlu said the ministry's investment share from the national budget for 2026 is about 525 billion lira, and that the value of openings carried out and planned this year will exceed 605 billion lira. "We turn every kuruş we receive from the Treasury into services for our citizens," Uraloğlu said, adding that many projects would be put into service by the end of the year.
