Erdoğan said Türkiye and Kazakhstan would deepen their Enhanced Strategic Partnership across trade, investment, energy, transport and the defense industry, while Tokayev voiced Kazakhstan's readiness to support Turkish companies.

Talks held behind closed doors

Erdoğan and Tokayev began with a one-on-one meeting at the Presidential Complex before leading talks between the two delegations. Both the bilateral meeting and the delegation talks were closed to the press.

The Turkish side included Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, Energy and Natural Resources Minister Alparslan Bayraktar, Culture and Tourism Minister Mehmet Nuri Ersoy, Trade Minister Ömer Bolat, Transport and Infrastructure Minister Abdulkadir Uraloğlu, Presidential Communications Director Burhanettin Duran, MİT head İbrahim Kalın, Presidential Chief of Staff Hasan Doğan, Presidency of Defense Industries head Haluk Görgün, Chief Advisor on Foreign Policy and Security Akif Çağatay Kılıç, Türkiye Wealth Fund General Manager Salim Arda Ermut, AK Party Deputy Chairman and head of Relations with Turkic States Kürşad Zorlu, and Türkiye's Ambassador to Astana Mustafa Kapucu.

Erdoğan sets out the partnership agenda

According to a statement from the Presidential Communications Directorate, Erdoğan told Tokayev that the two countries would strengthen their Enhanced Strategic Partnership with steps that carry relations further in every field, above all trade, investment, energy, transport and the defense industry.

Erdoğan also said Türkiye would work to reinforce solidarity within the Organization of Turkic States during its rotating presidency of the organization, and that close coordination with Kazakhstan on the matter would continue.
