Trade Minister Ömer Bolat said the total trade volume between Türkiye and the United States reached $38.5 billion last year, a 13% increase from the previous year, and that the figure will certainly pass $42-43 billion this year.

Bolat made the remarks at the GO! GLOBAL Türkiye Summit in Istanbul, which brings global technology and investment figures together with Turkish entrepreneurs and AI talent.

Digital economy dialogue targets lasting business ties

Bolat said digital technologies, AI, fintech, software and cybersecurity will contribute significantly to Türkiye's economic goals, offering opportunities not only for technology companies but also for manufacturers, service providers, exporters and investors. He recalled that Türkiye and the US have held a technical dialogue on the digital economy since 2019, covering data, blockchain, artificial intelligence, 5G and cybersecurity, and said this work will strengthen cooperation between companies and entrepreneurs in both countries.

On the summit itself, Bolat said GO! GLOBAL will help build lasting commercial relationships between Turkish and American entrepreneurs, investors and companies, and invited firms on both sides to assess the opportunities, exchange ideas and establish new partnerships. "We believe that close cooperation in technology and digital trade will carry economic relations between these two friendly countries to much higher levels," he said. The government's aim, he added, is to strengthen Turkish entrepreneurs and attract international investors to Türkiye.
