Trade Minister Ömer Bolat said Türkiye has provided exporters with $49.6 billion in support as of September 2026 and set a target of raising goods and services exports to $450 billion by 2029.

Bolat made the remarks in a post on NSosyal about a conference on Türkiye's foreign trade policy in the Century of Türkiye, held in Istanbul by the Eurasia Strategic Research Platform (ASAD).

Export figures cited

Bolat said goods exports rose from $36.1 billion in 2002 to $273.4 billion in 2025. In the first nine months of 2026, goods exports grew 5.2 percent from the same period of the previous year to $211 billion.

Annualized goods exports reached a record $283.7 billion as of September 2026, Bolat said. Services exports increased from $14 billion in 2002 to $124.9 billion last year.

The share of medium-high and high-technology products in manufacturing industry exports rose from 30.4 percent to 43.5 percent, according to Bolat.

Support for exporters

"Through Türk Eximbank, we provided our exporters with $49.6 billion in support as of September 2026," Bolat said. The minister added that the government is strengthening exporters' access to finance, encouraging value-added and technology-intensive production, expanding free trade agreements and opening new markets through trade diplomacy.

Target for 2029

"Our target for 2029 is to raise our goods and services exports to $450 billion and to continue on our path with determination by strengthening Türkiye's production power, its entrepreneurial business world and its strategic vision in a period of rising protectionism and uncertainty in the global economy," Bolat said.

Bolat said Türkiye is building the Century of Türkiye with more production, stronger exports, higher technology and a more effective role in global trade, adding: "Türkiye will produce, Türkiye will export, the Century of Türkiye will rise."

Bolat said the country is working under President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's leadership to make Türkiye one of the leading countries in global trade, citing a vision spanning production, exports, investment and trade diplomacy.
