“Culture of Resistance: The Voice of Palestine,” a documentary examining international solidarity with Palestinians, will have its first screening at Atlas Cinema in Istanbul on October 7. The event will be free and open to the public.
Directed by Betül Doğan, with cinematography by Rabia Aydoğdu and production by Tülay Gökçimen, the 44-minute film was made through a collaboration between Human Movie Team and Nida Production. It follows pro-Palestinian street protests across 10 countries, including Malaysia, Switzerland, Austria, Turkey, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Sweden. Turkish and English subtitle options will be available.
Jewish historian and author Ilan Pappé, who opposes Zionism, discusses the historical development of activist movements, while psychologist and associate professor Mehmet Dinç examines the psychological dynamics behind the solidarity. The documentary also covers student movements, arts events and civil society initiatives, alongside the journey of the Global Sumud Flotilla, highlighting the collective resistance that has emerged around the Palestinian issue.
